English conference line-up confirmed

Programme details have been released for a one-day curriculum conference focusing on a knowledge-rich approach to teaching English.

The English & Knowledge event will feature workshops and panels led by speakers including Summer Turner, Claire Heald, Matthew Carnaby, Lia Martin, Elisabeth Bowling, Claire Stoneman, and Bennie Kara.

Hearing from school teachers, leaders and curriculum thinkers about their curriculum journey, the choices they have made in their English curriculum and how these have been enacted in the classroom, the conference will consider what it means to design and teach a knowledge-rich English curriculum.

The event takes place at Jane Austen College in Norwich from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, June 29. Norwich has an outstanding pedigree in literature, being a UNESCO City of Literature, home to the University of East Anglia's world-famous creative writing MA and one of the UK's busiest public libraries, and the location of the writing of the first book in English authored by a woman.
